Alfon Engineering is a privately owned precision machining company situated in the suburb of Lonsdale, 25 km’s south of Adelaide or 30 minutes from the airport.

Founded in 1964 by Fred Moore, initially to support the small tooling needs of Automotive Suppliers, the Company has, through necessity, expanded and diversified to meet the demands of the industry. Alfon has moved twice to bigger premises. Our newest 5000m2 factory was opened in 1996 by the Hon John Olsen the former premier of South Australia. With plenty of room to expand Alfon has been able to install the large CNC machines needed to accommodate the mining and defence industries. Alfon is constantly moving with the times, utilising the latest cad/cam software and most up to date machining techniques.

Alfon has a highly experienced team of machinists, planners, designers, 3D modelers and administrators. We have 11 cnc machine centres, 2 cnc lathes and one 5 axis milling machine. Our largest machine has a table 5m x 3.5m and 1.7m spindle travel. We have a 16 tonne overhead crane, separate press shop, fabrication area, tool room, design office, metrology room, EDM room, administration offices and receiving/dispatch area. We have a coordinate measuring machine that we use extensively to inspect parts and we are happy to provide our customers with metrology reports and certificates of conformance.
